St Lucia
- St lucia, St lucia and St lucia again!
I first visited this island in 1995 for the Jazz Festival, without any preconceived expectations this place just blew me away.
From the moment we arrived at Hewanorra Airport instinctively I knew this place would be special.
The drive to Gros Islet was around 90 minutes, however with such scenary driving through the banana plantation and onto the mountains it seemed like only an hour had passed by.
We deliberately arrived at the start of the second week of the Jazz Festival so we could gage how different the island would be during the second week without Jazz. The Jazz Festival was simply amazing from geting drunk on cocktails bluredly watching Roy Ayers or sitting on Pigeon Point watching the array of stars, to coin the national phrase it was, Simply Beautiful!
The second week was our exploration week, from taking a speed boat around the island to trudging through the rainforest (highly recommended). Eating out at the then Pink Elephant is a must, If you love your Roti and Chicken Curry as I do - this is the place to be.
I have created this website to give those that have experienced the delights of the caribbean and to encourage those to take a sample of the Caribbean and enter into the Bug Zone!
